As soon as the weather turns wet and cold, you need boots to keep your feet dry and warm.
It is recommended to wear synthetic socks (polypropylene and/or polyamide, for example) with your boots to keep your feet warm and help wick away moisture. Please note: boots are not recommended for dinghy sailing.

CHOICE CRITERIA

GRIP
Grooved or treaded rubber outsole (helps water drain away): prevents you from slipping on a wet deck. Water drainage channels improve the boot's non-slip performance.
PROTECTION / SUPPORT
A raised heel and reinforcements at the heel, on top of the foot and at the instep protect you from knocks against the deck fittings. Fastening around the calf provides better fit.
COMFORT
EVA midsole. Removable inner with raised arch. Polyester lining. For more comfort, some boots have dimpled soles that give better cushioning. An absorbant inner lining will help the boots to dry. Waterproof and breathable boots ensure protection from water but remain lightweight, wick away moisture and dry quickly.
