3-layer clothing system
To get the most out of sailing, even in difficult conditions, the most important thing is to stay dry. You need clothes that will keep the humidity that causes you to feel cold as far away from your skin as possible whilst at the same time keeping warmth in and protecting you from rain, spray and anything else the sea has to throw at you. That is the aim of our 3-layer clothing system

ADVICE on how to choose
LAYER POLOS / SHORTS / TROUSERS
Undergarments make up the first transfer layer which is worn close to the skin. This layer helps perspiration wick away. It can be worn alone in clement weather or in combination with a thermal layer , and/or a protective layer . Here are the 4 main criteria to consider when choosing your polo shirt, shorts or trousers:
  TRANSFER INSULATION PROTECTION

Breathability
Regulation
Sun protection
Weight
To wick moisture away from the body towards the outside, layer is usually made from synthetic fibres and sometimes combined with an antibacterial treatment. Layer is worn close to the body. The idea is to prevent the body from over heating by creating a dry microclimate around it.
To achieve this, we use modified polyester fibres that contain a great deal of air but absorb little moisture. Some polyester fibre treatments increase the speed of moisture transfer.
Some products guarantee a sun protection factor of 40+ (95% of UVA and UVB rays blocked) - (European standard EN13758-1). This is achieved by using synthetic threads that contain titanium oxide (TiO2), an element that is found in sun creams and blocks out UVrays. Opt for a lightweight fabric that provides comfort and freedom of movement whilst enjoying sailing, canoeing or kayaking.
