Yesterday, we set up camp for the night in a sensational setting in Villarube... It's got to be said - the Galician coast is wonderful: steep coastline, one long series of criques, cliffs and forests…
It's a real pleasure for surf and nature lovers (next week, you'll be able to read the breakdown of all the spots surfed during the trip on Tribord Club)
Unfortunately, the windguru weather forecasts were not too optimistic and the promised swell was not really easy to spot...
So we started the day with a photo session "in the dry" to be able to make the most of the setting and atmosphere as you can see for yourselves:

Galicia or Canada?

Canada or Galicia?

Guillaume posing...

A bit of climbing to warm up…

Guillaume and Fred check out the spot

Guillaume upside down…

Nice nose riding of Guillaume!

Guillaume again: roller!

Fred on the fish 6'0 Tribord

Florian a Tribord Club member does a spin!

Guillaume doing Granddad surfing…
A bit less fun for the rest of the day as we have to drive quite a long way to find a good spot for the afternoon's surfing...alas, that's also part of life on a surf trip…
We crack through the miles and keep checking out all the spots on the coast... looks like we're going to miss out this afternoon... but, never mind, we can take advantage of the nice setting to shoot a short video interview with Nicolas Capdeville asking him about his return to the "world tour" in 2012, almost ten years after his last world champion title (it's coming up very soon on this blog)

Interview with Nico Cap2, back from the 2012 world tour, Guillaume as cameraman, Baptiste asking the questions…

Nicolas Cap2, the life and soul of the party

On the road again...

A last little check but we can't take to the water…too late the wind's blowing
Quotes of the day:
Nicolas: "Surfing or driving - it's one or the other"
Cédric: "A wave is a wave and my board can't spot the difference … ;-)"
Gaêtan: "Well, today I'm not surfing but at least I've been able to start my new career as an assistant photographer"
Baptiste: "We need waves and we crack jokes..."
Let's hope the weather is better for us tomorrow and we can get in one last surfing spree on this test trip in Galicia
