Scegliere la tenuta per la vela leggera - deriva/catamarano

Per scegliere la tenuta da vela leggera (deriva o catamarano), bisogna prendere in considerazione le condizioni meteorologiche.

Ogni elemento del proprio equipaggiamento ha una funzione ben precisa :

- La muta in neoprene ha principalmente una funzione termica, e manterrà costante il calore del corpo.Maggiore è il suo spessore e migliore sarà l'isolamento. Le mute ideate per la pratica della deriva / catamarano hanno delle particolarità legate allo sport, avranno ad esempio delle zone rinforzate per proteggersi dagli sfregamenti, come ginocchia e glutei, una forma adatta alla posizione seduta e una morbidezza che apporta libertà di movimento per le manovre.

- I guanti o mezzi-guanti proteggeranno dagli sfregamenti.Un paio di guanti in neoprene apporteranno maggiore calore ma meno destrezza rispetto ai mezzi-guanti, che a sua volta sono meno caldi.

- Le scarpette proteggono i piedi dagli urti contro gli accessori di coperta. In neoprene, permettono inoltre, di regolare la temperatura corporea. L’aderenza è indispensabile per non scivolare durante le manovre.

- Il giubbotto serve a diminuire l'effetto di raffreddamento causato dal vento (o effetto freezing). L’ideale è che sia impermeabile e traspirante, per meglio gestire le differenze di temperatura tra momenti di sforzo e momenti di riposo. Le tasche sono sempre utili, per tenere uno svitagrilli o una barretta ai cereali ;-)

- I TOP. Ci sono 2 tipi di top :
> i top termici, che si indossano sotto la muta per migliorare la gestione del calore e che saranno principalmente utilizzati con tempo freddo
> i top solari (UV protect), che proteggono dagli effetti nocivi del sole, facendo da barriera contro i raggi UV, efficaci anche bagnati.

Ecco la tenuta ideale per praticare la vela leggera – deriva/catamarano :

1. Con qualunque condizione climatica indossare un gilet d'aiuto al galleggiamento, delle scarpette o scarpe (non stivali)

2. Con tempo caldo :
- Tenuta in neoprene 2mm tipo shortjohn o short.
- Top UVprotect
- Mezzi-guanti
- Protezione solare (berretto, occhiali, crema per le zone non protette)

3. Con tempo freddo
- Muta integrale in neoprene 3 o 4mm,
- Top termico complementare per maggiore comfort,
- Guanti in neoprene,
- Giubbotto,
- Berretto di lana o polipropilene (che mantiene il calore anche bagnato ) o cappuccio in neoprene.
